[Important] Termination of Sendy’s services and migration to Smiles

Thank you for always using Sendy.

As announced on February 9, 2024, our parent company, Seven Bank, Ltd., will be transferring all shares of our company to Digital Wallet Corporation.
As a result, the remittance service will be suspended on March 31, 2024 (Sunday), and all Sendy services will be terminated on April 1, 2024. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all our customers for your patronage over the years, and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this announcement may cause.
Sendy customers can migrate their Sendy accounts to Smiles Mobile Remittance (hereinafter referred to as “Smiles”) provided by Digital Wallet Corporation to use Smiles’ services.
Therefore, in this announcement, we would like to inform you on how you can migrate your account from Sendy to Smiles. However, please note that the information contained in this announcement is current as of March 1, 2024, and is subject to change in the future. Any changes to the contents of this announcement will be announced at a later date.

[How to migrate from Sendy to Smiles]
■If you wish to migrate your Sendy account to Smiles
On April 2, 2024 (tentative), you will be able to complete the account migration procedure within the Smiles app. Details of the migration schedule and procedure will be provided at a later date.

① If you have a Smiles account
From April 2, 2024 (tentative), a menu for the migration procedure will appear in the Smiles app you are currently using. Please follow the instructions on the menu to complete the migration procedure. After the migration procedure, the balance and points in your Sendy account will be integrated into (added to) the current balance and points of your Smiles account.

② If you do not have a Smiles account
Download the Smiles app and follow the instructions in the in-app menu to complete the migration procedure. By agreeing to the terms and conditions of the migration, your Smiles account will be automatically created and the balance and points in your Sendy account will be transferred to your Smiles account.

[If you do not intend to carry out the migration procedure to Smiles]
■If you do not wish to migrate your Sendy account to Smiles
If you do not wish to migrate to Smiles, you can apply for the closure of your Sendy account through the Sendy app by March 31, 2024. Please note that it may take some time to complete the procedure to close your account, so please give yourself ample time to complete the procedure.

In addition, please note that if your Sendy account balance exceeds ¥100,000, you cannot apply to close your account through the Sendy app. Please make an international remittance to bring your account balance below ¥100,000, or contact our Sendy app chat or Customer Support below if you do not plan to make an international remittance.

If you have closed your account via the abovementioned procedure, you will be able to receive your Sendy account balance minus a cancellation fee of ¥550 (including tax) from a Seven Bank ATM after the account closure procedure is completed in accordance with Sendy’s Terms of Service. You will be notified of the information required to receive your balance by Sendy if the account closure procedure is completed by April 1, or by Smiles if the account closure procedure is completed on or after April 2. In addition, if your Sendy account balance is more than ¥100,000, the remaining Sendy account balance after deducting the cancellation fee of ¥550 (including tax) will be sent to your bank account. In the unlikely event that we are unable to issue the refund via bank transfer, we will issue the refund via registered mail. (現金書留).
If you have no intention to migrate to Smiles after April 2, 2024, the remaining Sendy account balance after deducting the ¥550 fee (including tax) will be returned via withdrawal from a Seven bank ATM, bank transfer or via registered mail (現金書留).

[Transferring the balance and points in your Sendy account]
The same amount of balance and points held in your Sendy account at the end of Sendy’s services will be reflected in your new Smiles account, after you have agreed to the various terms and conditions when you migrate your account from Sendy to Smiles.
Points transferred from Sendy to Smiles can be used to pay remittance fees on Smiles just like on Sendy, at the same rate of 1 point = ¥1. (Points cannot be used as remittance funds)

[Regarding remittance information registered with Sendy]
Recipient information (remittance information) registered with Sendy will not be carried over to Smiles. Please make a copy of any recipient information that you intend to use in the future before the termination of Sendy’s services and register the information again once your account is migrated to Smiles. We apologise for the inconvenience.

[Regarding deposits using QR codes at Seven Bank ATMs]
Even after the migration to Smiles in April 2024, you will still be able to continue using the QR code deposit function using Seven Bank ATMs. However, ATM usage fees will be determined by Smiles. (*Information on how to use the service and usage fees will be announced by Smiles at a later date)

[Regarding deposits by bank transfer]
The transfer destination account you are currently using on Sendy cannot be used to make deposits by bank transfers on Smiles.
If you wish to continue making deposits by bank transfers, you will need to obtain a new transfer destination account in the Smiles app after migrating your account to the Smiles app. As with Sendy, you can transfer funds to GMO Aozora Net Bank, as well as to Japan Post Bank. (*For deposits to Japan Post Bank, a separate deposit reporting procedure will be required)
As with Sendy, please note that transfer fees will be borne by the customer.

[Fulfillment of obligations associated with the discontinuation of Sendy’s services]
Pursuant to the provisions of the Payment Services Act, all obligations of Seven Global Remit, Ltd., which operates Sendy, will be transferred to Digital Wallet Corporation upon the merger by absorption on April 2, 2024, and will be fulfilled by Digital Wallet Corporation.
As stated above, if you have completed the account closure procedure by April 1, 2024, we will process the refund.
